On Saturday 25 April, 100 years on from the Gallipoli landings, we honour and remember New Zealanders who have served, and commemorate the loss of life and of innocence.

Anzac Day Services:

Auckland Choral - 6.40AM - WWI Sanctuary
Directly following the Dawn Service, join Auckland Choral as they raise their voices in remembrance with a moving mix of songs and arias, conducted by Elizabeth Lau.

Anzac Day Tours - 7.45AM, 8.45AM, 9.45AM, 12.45PM, 1.45PM, 2.45PM and 3.45PM - Armoury
Take a 45-minute guided tour around our War Memorial galleries, focusing on either the First or Second World War.

Auckland Youth Choir - 9AM - WWI Sanctuary
Be moved by Auckland Youth Choir’s special performance which features readings by Arthur Boyer from the Gallipoli diary of his great-grandfather, Percy Hillary.

When We Go to War: Behind the scenes - 10AM - Auditorium
Get behind the scenes of TVNZ’s major new historical drama, When We Go to War. Join writer Gavin Strawhan and director Peter Burger as they talk about the challenges and triumphs of recreating New Zealand and Gallipoli 100 years ago, featuring excerpts from the series.

The New Zealand Dance Company - 12PM - WWI Sanctuary
Immediately following the Civic Service, enjoy performance installations drawn from the internationally acclaimed show Rotunda. Timed to honour the Gallipoli landings in 1915, Rotunda is a living memorial that celebrates the Anzac spirit and the themes of courage, loss, kinship and, ultimately, a desire for peace.

Auckland Girl's Choir - 1.30PM - WWI Sanctuary
Listen to the Auckland Girls’ Choir as they sing a variety of Anzac anthems and wartime favourites.

Tony Robinson’s Tour of Duty - 2PM - Auditorium
Watch a special screening of the Auckland episode of Tony Robinson’s Tour of Duty in which he tells extraordinary stories about WWI and WWII.
