Connah Podmore is the NZ Pacific Studio 2015 Anzac Bridge Fellow. As part of her residency she is working on a community-based project that will contribute to the Anzac commemorations at the Anzac Memorial Bridge in Kaiparoro on Anzac day, April 25th, 2pm.

Connah invites members of the community to write a postcard (supplied by her) to a war-time person of the past. This does not have to be a direct ancestor, or someone who went to war: it could be written to parents or loved ones who waited at home, or even to an imagined recipient.

In the spirit of Anzac Day, participants may reach out to any era of conflict. Postcards also do not have to be written to someone who is still alive, or to whom you are actually related - the aim is to simply communicate with the past in a personal way, exploring the process and dynamics of memorialisation on a personal level.

The NZ Pacific Studio Anzac Bridge Fellowship is supported by The Friends of Anzac Memorial Bridge Kaiparoro Inc and generously sponsored by Trust House Community Enterprise. Find out more on our website.
