The armistice, which marked the end of World War One hostilities between the Allied Nations and Germany was signed on 11 November 1918. A commemorative service for the anniversary of Armistice Day is being held this Wednesday at the Cenotaph at 11am. This will be followed by refreshments and the launch of the WW100 street-naming initiative 'Poppy Places' on the ground floor of the Central Library, George Street, Palmerston North.
