Maelstrom - Fighting for Peace, created by Otaki artist Yvonne de Mille, is a tribute to those whose lives have been touched by war and especially WW1 at this centenary of that event. It is about gratitude, peace and community. This Installation consists of 24 stretcher like structures framing hand dyed silks that reference dawn til dusk, each one painted at the appropriate time of the day and inspired by the stanza from Robert Laurence Binyon's poem, The Fallen. "At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them". This work acknowledges the peacemakers including conscientious objectors.

The exhibition runs from 4 August through to 3 October 2015, Monday to Saturday, 8.30am to 5pm.
