‘My Memorial’ combines two aspects of Australian artist Kathy Temin’s work, by staging one of her characteristic abstract forests with her oral histories project. By incorporating the sound work, which details survivor testimonies captured at war memorial events, this project becomes a darkly poignant and timely memorial garden to WW1 survivors. It is also goes some way to reclaim Temin’s family history, in particular her father’s internment in Sachsenhausen concentration camp.
