As a youngster in Mt Maunganui, Damien Fenton chanced across his grandfather’s army battledress.
He then quizzed him about his war stories, sparking a lifetime interest in military history.
Having marked the centenary of the start of World War One, a conflict that claimed 18,000 Kiwi lives and left 41,000 wounded, out of a population of just 1 million.
Dr Fenton will take us through the history of the First World War using imagery from this book. An accomplished presenter, he makes the history easily accessible, compelling and evocative.
