The Rotorua District Field of Remembrance will be installed in Government Gardens to mark the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli landings by ANZAC troops on 25 April 1915.

Each of the named crosses in this Field of Remembrance represents a soldier from the Rotorua District who lost their life whilst serving during World War One, 1914 - 1918. The Field of Remembrance will open with a consecration at 5pm on Thursday 23 April. The crosses will remain up until Tuesday 28 April 2015 and situated by the Cenotaph in Government Gardens.

Visitors are welcome to walk amongst the crosses and place personal tributes.

You may also like to visit Rotorua Museum on Saturday 25 April 2015 and take time to remember those whose lives have been lost by writing a message on a poppy and adding it to our Anzac Day remembrance displays.

Don’t miss the moving Rotorua Museum 28 Maori Battalion film which runs every 30 minutes.

The Museum Café will be open from 9am for hot drinks, delicious Anzac biscuits and all-day breakfast.

Entry to the Field of Remembrance is free of charge. Entry to Rotorua Museum is free for local Rotorua residents with ID. General admission: adults $20, seniors $18 and children $8.
