Tin Palace's August exhibition is war sTOrY by ceramicist Tatyanna Meharry, granddaughter to celebrated New Zealand artist Doris Lusk and winner of the 2013 Supreme WOW awards. In war sTOrY Tatyanna explores methods imbued in to our psyche to make the sacrifices of war possible turning Tin Palace in to a store where soldiers are the commodities on sale.

In this lecture series Dr Gwen Parsons, history tutor at the University of Canterbury, relates her research on the experiences of New Zealand World War 1 veterans during the post-war decade and the development of repatriation policy for returned soldiers to New Zealand to Tatyanna's exhibition. Lecture 1 is on New Zealand's participation in the war effort and lecture 2 on the impact of war/the home front.
