Join us for a series of talks on various aspects of the Home Front in Hamilton and the Waikato during World War 1.
August 6: Eris Parker talking about how money was raised for the war in Cambridge. Interweaving this with the lives of the Waikato soldiers and their families.
August 13: Alexy Simmons looking at food and cooking, both at home and in the military training camps
August 20: Lyn Williams looking at women on the Home Front, particularly as represented in the cemeteries
August 27: Murray Frost talking about the commemoration of the WWI through the naming of Hamilton’s streets
September 3: Shelley North presenting a session on how to research WWI ancestors
September 10: Bilgehan Berberoglu taking a brief look at the Turkish Home Front
