Come and listen to a presentation by Sir Bruce Ferguson on The Return of the NZ Unknown Warrior from France. Sir Bruce Ferguson is the former Chief of the Defence Force and Senior Air Force Officer. He had the task of repatriating the Unknown Warrior's remains back to New Zealand. He said of the occasion that he "told him [the Warrior] we're taking him home and that those who are taking him home are soldiers, sailors and airmen, past and present."

Following this we will celebrate the book launch of Balls, Bullets and Boots - from rugby field to battlefield. In this fascinating WWI centenary publication rugby historian Clive Akers explores the impact that hostilities had on New Zealand’s pre-war signature sport and its sportspeople. Stories of how the lives, loves and communities of XV rugby players and a pioneering female coach were forever changed by war are vividly retold, illustrating the breadth of wartime experiences common to all New Zealanders.

The evening will commence with light refreshments.
Elwood Room, Convention Centre
