The Christchurch-UK Sister City Committee cordially invites you to attend a commemorative service to mark the centenary of the No.1 New Zealand General Hospital in Brockenhurst, New Forest.

The service commemorates the opening of the New Zealand No.1 Hospital at Brockenhurst in June 1916, close to Christchurch's sister city, Dorset. On this day a commemorative service will be held in St. Nicholas church in Brockenhurst - organised by the NZ High Commission in the UK. Adjacent to the church is a graveyard that contains the remains of 93 New Zealand servicemen of whom 16 are from Canterbury. Nearly 21,000 new Zealand soldiers were treated at this hospital.
