As we get closer to Anzac Day, many people are reflecting on their families’ involvement in past wars, and the stories and mementos that have been passed down the generations.
We are interested in hearing stories from descendants of the soldiers who fought in WWI and WWII, the Māori contingent of the Pioneer Battalion or the 28th Māori Battalion. If you’d like to share your war-time story or experience, the #wellynextdoor recording caravan.
Thanks to Te Upoko O Te Ika Māori radio station, people will have the option to be interviewed in either English or Te Reo. Some of the stories collected will be broadcast by Te Upoko O Te Ika Māori radio station as part of their Anzac commemorations.
To assist us, we recommend that you pre-book a time to come and share your relative’s story.
