"Trail of Poppies " is an Anzac Day community art installation, in remembrance of the First World War, to be created with community through poppy making workshops.
The free workshops are being lead by project community artist, Jill Walker of The Travelling Tuataras, and are suitable for all ages with no prior experience needed.
Children must attend with an adult .
Workshops are being held at Rotorua District Library, plus will 'pop-up' at other places and spaces prior to Anzac Day.
The poppy trail will be 'planted' alongside The Returning Soldier Exhibition at Sulphur Lake Sculpture Trail, which is situated behind The Arts Village in Hinemoa Street.
On Anzac Day people can walk this trail, and between 10.30 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. create their own poppy and plant it, and listen to Anzac stories.
For further information about the project go to 'The Travelling Tuataras' Facebook page.
