New Zealand and Australian artists commemorate the Anzac legend 100 years after it was forged in Gallipoli.
During April and May 2014 artists from Australia and New Zealand travelled to Turkey on a painting and research trip, coinciding with the lead-up to the centenary year of the Gallipoli campaign. Stanley Palmer, John Walsh, Michael Shepherd and Euan MacLeod made up the New Zealand contingent.
The resulting exhibition includes paintings produced during the trip as well as later studio works inspired by first-hand experiences of the battle sites.
Pātaka Art + Museum will be the first New Zealand venue for the Your Friend the Enemy exhibition, which has been touring venues in Australia since April 2015.
