Ten thousand New Zealand horses departed our shores to help our soldiers in WW1. Only a handful returned.

Artist Cat Auburn commemorates their service and sacrifice with a large installation featuring Victorian-style rosettes made from donated horse hair.

The exhibition is toured by Sarjeant Gallery Te Whare o Rehua Whanganui and was the winner of Best Exhibition Regional Art at the Service IQ 2016 New Zealand Museum Awards.
