Approximately 150 Dalmatian born or New Zealand born Dalmatians served in the NZEF. We have commissioned a Kauri wooden plaque which will have the names of those who served engraved on it. It will be unveiled at a ceremony in the Dalmatian Museum at the above address.

As our early immigrants were associated with the digging of kauri gum we believe a plaque made of kauri will be most fitting and possibly unique in New Zealand.

We will also have a mannequin dressed in NZ army uniform and photos of many who served and photos relating to battle scenes of WW1.

We will observe 2 mins silence and playing of the Last Post.

In another part of our premises we will be showing short films of the war and serving morning tea and refreshments.

This ceremony is open to the general public.
