On the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month in 1918, the Armistice was signed between the Allied nations and the German Empire, ending the hostilities of the Great War.

100 years on, Cambridge will commemorate with an Armistice parade in Victoria Street, followed by an Armistice commemorative service on the plaza outside the Town Hall and laying of wreaths at the Cenotaph.

Cambridge also marks the centenary of the liberation of its sister city Le Quesnoy, France. On 4 November 1918 New Zealand soldiers liberated the 14th century, fortified French town of Le Quesnoy from a four-year German occupation. So began the story of two towns linked by war.

This service is organised by the ANZAC and Armistice Remembrance Organising Committee - a committee of the Cambridge Community Board.
