Doors open 10.30am and morning tea served. Church bells will ring at 11am eleven times for the eleven who did not return from WW1. Their names will be read and a prayer given by the Vicar of St Peter’s then brief talks by descendants of those who served.

Followed by a screening of the 70 minute WW1 film ‘For King and Country’ from Nga Taonga Sound and Vision. Rare footage and narrated by historian Dr. Christopher Pugsley.

The public are invited to bring along photos and stories of relatives who served and these will be displayed in the hall. After the movie will be the time to share and chat about them.

Koha box at door.

Also that evening 5pm to 6pm the Armistice play ‘Bill Massey’s Tourists’ – a granddaughter tells her grandfather’s story, written and performed by Jan Bolwell. Admission $20.
