Let the Great War Exhibition take you from a peaceful Belgian village before war broke out into the hell that was World War I.

The story of the First World War is told through a remarkable collection of objects, hundreds of colourised photographs, miniature models and movie-like sets. Learn stories of mateship and heroism. Get a sense of the mud and mayhem and dreadful loss of life in this global war. Add to your visit with a tour from our knowledgeable guides.

Challenge yourself! Experience what it was like for the Anzac troops at Gallipoli in Sir Peter Jackson's extraordinary re-creation of the trenches. Quinn’s Post was the nearest point to the Turks – only a bomb’s throw away.

As the ferocious struggle between opposing forces was played out, the men endured loud noise and explosions, cramped conditions, intense heat and the stench of death. Moving through these tunnels and trenches will at times be challenging – this is a unique experience, one we are proud to be able to introduce to The Great War Exhibition.

Check out our temporary exhibitions which showcase a variety of WWI themes in greater detail.

A must-see, created by Sir Peter Jackson and supported by ANZ.
