2018 marks the centenary of the end of the First World War. In this talk, Professor Gary Sheffield explains why, after three years of deadlock, 1918 was decisive, and the Allies emerged victorious.

This talk ranges from the trenches of Flanders to the home fronts of the belligerents, via the high seas and the great empires of the European powers, from ration books to revolutions tanks and from factories to parliaments.
